But, I shall try to give you all the updates.  A new store Got Tea’s second store has finally opened! A small store at 32 nd Avenue in Gurgaon, this one is mostly geared towards takeaways, but there are a few seats available too. The vision with this store was for customers to grab and go, and walk around 32 nd Avenue as they sip on a fresh bubble tea drink. A soft launch for select friends, family and loyal customers was held the weekend before the store opened. The new Got Tea store The plans for more stores don’t end here though. The Got team has envisioned each store to have a different feature concept, to differentiate it from others. 2022 is here and Got Tea hit the ground running. To keep up with our growing customer base and to satisfy everyone, we started the year with not one but TWO new flavours.  Revamping the old Well, technically, one was an upgrade of an existing flavour. With our R&D expert Daniel, we revamped the Classic Black bubble tea and transformed it to the Royal Milk Tea. Served both hot and cold, this version has a richer flavour, is creamier and smoother, and has been inspired by how the Japanese make their black teas.  Launched on 2 January 2022, this flavour has quickly become a crowd favourite, and is rising up to become a bestseller. Even the Got Tea team has been enjoying this drink – though Scarlet Jamong has been YuSung’s favourite for a while, he is now team Royal Milk Tea all the way! Introducing the new While the Royal Milk Tea brings a little bit of Japan to Got Tea, the next flavour is all Korean. Banana Milk is a concoction of fresh banana jam, made in-house, mixed with milk, va

December 2021 was a busy month for everyone at Got Tea. In the last episode, I told you all about our expanded menu, bubble tea drops and had two pop-up weekends at 32 nd Avenue in Gurgaon. But we did even more in December – can you believe it?  Partnership with Indonesian embassy Perhaps a little known fact is that many people who work in the Indonesian embassy in New Delhi are our loyal customers and have been so for a while now. So when the Indonesian embassy approached us to set up a pop-up stall for their Indonesian Mother’s Day celebration on 22 December, of course we agreed! Team Got Tea at the Indonesian embassy for Mother's Day celebrations Since so many people already knew about Got Tea and loved bubble tea, the drinks were gone in seconds. Folks also enjoyed our croffles, with the most popular flavour being peanut butter. The event was such a success that the embassy called us back for another celebration for New Year’s Eve, on 31 December. Due to the curfews imposed by

Episode 26: Expanding Got Tea

Image
After celebrating the first anniversary of the Got Tea store, the team decided that now was the time to expand the breadth of offerings and try to capture a larger audience. But they didn’t want to just start something new from scratch – there are so many things that Got Tea is doing which have been successful with their existing customers, so the challenge was to figure out how these things can be built upon to get new people in.  Expanding the menu The first thing the team decided to do was to continue offering more hot drinks, especially as the temperatures in Delhi continue to plummet. So, two new flavours, Peachy Oolong,  a creamy mix of peach and oolong teas, and an aromatic Earl Grey have been launched. Both drinks can be ordered hot or cold, with or without bubbles.  Got Tea's latest bubble tea flavours - Peachy Oolong and Earl Grey - are available both hot and cold! The team also noted that their croffles are popular almost universally, so they wanted to expand their croff

So, a weeklong celebration was held for all to come together over their shared love of Got Tea! Got Tea founders YuSung, Armaan and Jo For the customers The Got Tea team wanted to thank all their customers for supporting them and loving their drinks and snacks, and to do that, they brought back customer favourites from the past. A full week of different events of these past favourites was a walk down memory lane.  Got Tea brought back their famous GOT fried chicken for two days, since many customers had been asking for it. It came as no surprise that the fried chicken days were very popular and they sold out quite quickly.  The team also held a mini version of their Squid Game event (which was previously held in October and proved to be a huge hit). And to end the week of ce

Episode 24: Yesua – The Brand Manager

Image
For the Got Tea founders, building a visual identity for the brand has been an important aspect, right from the beginning. The founders realized the importance of aesthetics, especially for the current generation and their target audience, and knew that this was one area they had to focus on. So, they knew that they wanted someone strong with a good eye for visual aesthetics to take on this job and Yesua was the perfect choice.  When YuSung and SuAh had gone back to Korea during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, they had met up with a lot of people from the Woodstock community, including Yesua Jeon, who was a few years younger to us in school. It was a casual meeting, where YuSung and SuAh mentioned their plans of opening a bubble tea venture in India. They explained their vision to Yesua, who understood a lot of what they wanted to achieve, especially with regards to bringing Korean culture to India to the F&B industry in India, since he had spent 6 years in India.  So Yes
