Episode 19: July Updates

Want to know what’s been happening at your favourite Delhi bubble tea store? Well, here’s what’s been happening at Got Tea and what’s in store for July!

Got Tea open for dine-in!

With relaxations in some rules by the state government, Got Tea has opened its café for dine-in, but at a limited capacity, with only 16 people allowed at a time in the store. All staff have also been at least partially vaccinated, so that they can keep serving you. In addition, the store has undergone a little facelift over the lockdown, with some new shelving to display all the goodies on sale. So, what are you waiting for – drop by sometime and say hi!

New menu items

The Got Tea team has developed two new menu items, to be launched this coming week. The new bubble tea flavour is a coffee and coconut flavour, Koko Caphe, is a refreshing drink to beat the summer heat. It has been inspired by Vietnamese iced coffee, but with a Got Tea spin on it.

For the snacks, the team has come up with a savoury version of the croffle – dill lemon butter flavour. The crisp, warm croffle is topped with velvety homemade dill and lemon butter, topped with cheddar cheese which is torched for that meltiness. This buttery snack is perfect for a midday pick-me-up and is best paired with either our Scarlet Jamong or Strawberry Sparkle bubble teas!

Staff and office updates

Team Got Tea has expanded its staff to welcome three new team members! Kim will be responsible for operations and internal management, to ensure that the Got Tea team is trained and working smoothly; Yesua is joining for a long-term contract as the brand manager, and will be responsible for branding, e-commerce ventures and the overall aesthetics; Amit, who previously worked next to the Got Tea team at Bamboo Hut, is joining the team as an operations staff. 

The Got Tea team has also found a new office space for their venture, located in Lajpat Nagar. Since the store has limited space, and none of it could be used for administrative purposes, the team has taken on this new space. This will allow the management and administrative staff to also focus on the company and plan its growth, so that Got Tea can expand to more than just a single storefront.

Episode 28: Bringing in 2022 with 2 new flavours

2022 is here and Got Tea hit the ground running. To keep up with our growing customer base and to satisfy everyone, we started the year with not one but TWO new flavours.  Revamping the old Well, technically, one was an upgrade of an existing flavour. With our R&D expert Daniel, we revamped the Classic Black bubble tea and transformed it to the Royal Milk Tea. Served both hot and cold, this version has a richer flavour, is creamier and smoother, and has been inspired by how the Japanese make their black teas.  Launched on 2 January 2022, this flavour has quickly become a crowd favourite, and is rising up to become a bestseller. Even the Got Tea team has been enjoying this drink – though Scarlet Jamong has been YuSung’s favourite for a while, he is now team Royal Milk Tea all the way! Episode 3: What's in a name?

SuAh and YuSung left everything in South Korea, packed their bags with some clothes, and arrived in New Delhi in December 2019, donned in a gat, a traditional Korean hat which gives Got Tea its name (and logo)! Let’s talk about that gat for a minute, actually – what’s the story behind that? A gat So back when YuSung and SuAh were still in Korea, and they were thinking about what they would call this bubble tea business.
